After reading an article about Avatar I realize the humans are invading the alien planet because we run out of unobtainium and can no longer make Oakleys !
Die alien scum!!! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/f...of-movies.html for those that dont know unobtainium is what Jim Jannard called the material that he made the hand grips out of and they use them on the ear socks for the glasses it is also the reason for invasion in Avatar ![]()

I love all the comments on that link. So many people who judge something they haven't even seen...

That alien chick in Avatar actually has a pair of oakleys.
And like Bladerunner it hold many a metaphor about seeing. I see you. EDIT:PS - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unobtainium

Unfortunately because of all the buzz about 3D at the moment Ive been asked to produce some 3D animations, 3D Scarlet aint going to be ready, so it will be all animated, though might try to do some Stereo BG Plates with 2 7D's but then the frame would be verticle if its possible with the 7D's I don't know, not looking forward to the rendering, I think it might have to be at least 1280x720 for a better 3D effect, no hints as to which method they will use for projection/glasses yet, but they probably won't be projecting in HD, will have to wait n see.
Normally I would enjoy rising to the challenge, but after Avatar , spinning logo's don't do much for me.

Is that really the term that they use? I first heard that word in that flick with Wesley Crusher and Lt. Dax where they take that drilling train to the center of the earth and set off a couple of nukes. And then get rescued by a couple of whales at the end. The Core. It looks like the term is a little more common than I thought, with appearances in Honey I shrunk the kids (tv series) and other Bond flicks and such. I just never noticed it until The Core.
I might actually go see Avatar in the theaters. I don't normally do the theater thing. A/C is on too high, seats are not that comfy, and the presence of other lifeforms makes it a very distracting experience. And having a tech in the booth who's legally blind when it comes to focus doesn't help either. |
