On-Camera Lighting

Okay, got some questions here about camera mounted lighting.

I am looking to buy either a low power consumption LED on-camera light (like Ikan iLED or LitePanels Micro) or a heftier light with a battery pack. I'm looking at several options at B&H, but most of these have no reviews. I have little to no experience with lighting, so I don't know what sort of wattage I should be looking for or even which manufacturers are reliable.

This is to be used for wedding videography in extremely dark spaces, such as a reception hall after the lights go out and the music starts. I want a light that will be at the same time unobtrusive and professional (and professional looking). I know I want a dimmer for these situations. Diffusion filter would be a plus. Currently shooting with an HV30.

Looking to spend around $300, give or take $50. Any help would be much appreciated.
