I had trouble finding the scarlet specs. Will/does the Scarlet use line level or mic level for the audio input?

Thanks

Adam

Won't know for a while yet. Guessing it be switchable anyway like any decent camera.

Let's hope it's switchable. Some will want to plug in their mics directly. Others will employ a mixer. There's no single right answer.

You could always look at the specs on the ONE to see what they've done there.

If the Scarlet brain now has a basic I/O. So it may have basic mic input and get a module for line input, but really the basic input needs to be switchable, if so.

I think any I/O on the basic brain will be digital only, no analog. There has to be a digital audio bus on the module interconnect, but I don't know if they will have audio on an external connector on the brain or not. If so it will be AES digital for external mixers.

as a sound guy i hope they give some nice timecode syncing options. AES/EBU would be great addition as an input.

I would like to see an AES42 option for direct digital mics. Phantom power Sync and word clock are provided by the camera under this standard.

not a lot of mics with AES42 that i would consider for using in the field though.
