Maybe this is a dumb question but, I need to upgrade my rails/handle/shoulder mount.
If I buy the current RED one rails/shoulder mount/handles, 1. Will it work with the scarlet, and 2. Will I be paying too much (pricing might go down for scarlet release?)
Thanks so much in advance :)
New to the Scarlet community, but I am excited!

This is one class of accessories that probably won't fit Scarlet/Epic due to the difference in body design. Handles should be fine, but the shoulder mount and rail mounts won't be the same.

What about rails? Should I buy RED rails and handles? My logic is its one less thing to buy when the scarlet comes out...plus they look cool as s***t

If you are talking about the 15mm or 19mm rails only, not the brackets that mount them to the camera, those should be fine.

I would wait the year, if I wasn't using them til the Scarlet.
A lot can change in a year with RED. Well, a lot can change for RED in 2 weeks!
Because of mass manufacturing of the rails and handles, they will more than likely be a lot cheaper at the Scarlet release as well.

Good point. A better place to make investments now would be in non-Red gear, like upgrading editing workstations and software to handle the workflow, or building sound and lighting kits.

Lights. They are my best investments and you can shoot with them till you die. Or even longer if you are a buddhist. LOL.

All,
Stellar advice. I am so hungry for this work, I cannot help but feel encouraged by your help- thank you so much!!
I am still reeling from some of the feedback on my other post. http://scarletuser.com/showthread.php?t=2262
I feel disappointed in myself for the London video that is about to come out. It was not well lit at all.... :(
Light/Sound = Great idea.....
