I've been eagerly anticipating this announcement and I'm not yet disappointed with the Scarlet, just still very in the dark.

I read the article in WIRED about the RED ONE and was blown away. Instant RED fan here.

There are just some things I want to know.

ISO SENSITIVITY AND NOISE CONTROL
Any word on the ISO sensitivity yet? Will it be 50-12800? 100-6400?
And the article mentions unrivaled noise control, but can the noise control really compare with the usable ISO3200 that the 5d Mark II and the D3 provide?

And will we get ISO tests?

Only 1 view? Is it that bad of a question?

I haven't seen any figures from what I read. All I can say really.

Any word on when the real announcement will hit?
This was more flash than substance today.

No one knows anything on ISO details.... and won't know until RED releases those sorts of details
(my guess is you won't know until NAB)

I really thought that RED might try to steal the thunder from the 5D Mark II as far as swaying DSLR users goes.

But by the time we get any details and real world tests the 5D Mark II will be out and I will have dropped $3000 on it.

I honestly don't think it's going to replace DSLRs if that what you want.

I see it as a really really good motion camera with the DSLR almost added as a bonus.

I think you're right, Gravy, but if the noise control is truly a leap over Canon and Nikon I might have to make the jump anyway.

But right now it looks like the 5D Mark II is for photographers who want to toy with video.
And the RED SCARLET is for videographers who want to toy with photography.

Yeah think you'd summed it up exactly there. That's how I feel any way as a film man first who dabbles in photography.
