Got 6x6 inch LEDs. 220cd only lit on one side of the cube in 3500k for inscene lighting. They cost 51$ each over at luminousfilm.com. Some first test images. You will see how it looks in one of my photographs rather sooner than later. Stay tuned.

Unfortunately the shipping was 100$. I hope you are americano.

It's only for inscene stuff. There is a 5400k with double the output and different sizes as well.

Lots of creative LED projects online, I like this on, just put it in a cheap diffuser, and bingo:

I had my three dedos and the birdcage on stage. Even used the LEDs for a shot. All I got. These lights are just practicals from the theatre. Unusable. The room was still big though.

BTW: Isn't "Stephen" more common in England? :)

Rescue.

There is a behind the scene image on my blog. Although I used finally the shot without the LEDs. The hole looked better on the used picture. As I had to photograph deep enough I had to shot it out of hand with 1/60s. Was a bit bad for my back in this narrow hallway. Unfortunately I had to go for the doll or hole that way. I took the one with the hole.

Nicely done, i notice you do pay attention to background as much as foreground.
Your pictures do tell more than one story.

The 28mm has a great DOF is that a Canon lens? Maybe silly question is this with a tripod?

Yannick Hagman
12-27-2008, 05:05 PM
Hi Roberto

I got my 24mm, 2.8 used on fleabay. It's a canon lens (medium line) and non USM. Sorry I made a typo above.

It's shot handheld as I took it in my grandparents house and couldn't take much with me: 1/60, 2.8 f-stop, 200 ISO.

The info is always a great help, as we move into the future its amazing how
the lines between still and moving photography blur. Its possibly always been
that way but now even more so.

once again thanks for the info

Mate Tim! Hehe, and I thought I finally did make a dull, positive portrait! We certainly will end up in hell! :)

Roberto,
for me the lines between still photography and directing are much closer than between Photography and DPing. It's all about stories and ideas. I will stay 35mm because of recent developments. Maybe I can experiment around with some moving pictures now. Otherwise I probably would have took the medium format plug. But the damn lenses are also very, very expensive in medium format.

I cancelled it. The color is also a bit too bright. I have some kind of fabric, but it's too big. :)

Is your crater in the clip done in 3D?

It looks that I can play around with a D90 soon btw (I adviced the art museum here to get one for their studio), which means I will have some access to it.

You know what your B&W and Color comparisons made me realize?
B&W asks for much greater contrast ratio than color photography to stand out.

Just a noob observation since I never messed with B&W photography.

The trees are gorgeous, I would use a circ. polarizer to bring up the blue in the sky and control the light reflection on the snow, but this can be fixed in Photoshop. Great composition...

I don't understand why You don't like the doors, the simplicity and colors of this image are just mesmerizing. Great architectural taste. I would definitely stop and play a little with this location...

Keep it up Yannick!

I saturated the blue down a bit. I'm not a fan of oversaturation during day. It looks too real and not so much like a painting. A polarizer would bring more texture to the snow?

Granty
02-22-2009, 05:29 AM
I like the doors, I reckon if you straightened it up in post, maybe a little fill on the outside ground it would just be a great addition and framing a little more up.

Then even go back and stage a person looking out the window just to the side of those doors, on the far left or right of the frame then I reckon you'd have a very good selling stock photo for that bad hotel, 'lost in translation' feel.

Nice shot

Yannick Hagman
02-23-2009, 02:44 AM
This was more some sort of test with my skyport trigger. There is some fill outside. The save to web still makes my images still darker as seen in photoshop, although I use a xrite eye-one now, which probably was a bit of a waste of money on an iMac screen.

Framing is allright, golden cut. But I would definitely go back there with some probs if I had a geni to stage something in front of the windows.

There I wanted to go medium format and there it is gone..

"EPT (160T) and EPJ (320T) are both gone. They've been out of production for some months now."

The highest reversal film is rated at 64 ISO, Kodachrome 64T. Absolutely useless for my stuff. I guess I have no other choice than EOS 5D MII now. Fuck.

This is not thungsten film, Dave. I know that they still do high ISO negative and daylight balanced reversal film, but every lab would brighten up my images if shot on negative film. I could shot on daylight but had to use a filter in front of the lens which costs me f-stops.
